Cath Adams - Principal Accompanist
Cath learned to play the piano at an early age and was one of Pat’s first pupils. Her home was always filled with music, and one of her earliest memories is learning songs to sing, with Pat accompanying her, of course.
Over the years, there were many more opportunities to sing and play. Cath enthusiastically took part in the many music clubs offered at school and joined her father, Geoff, singing in choirs. As a teenager, she first took on the role of accompanist and rehearsal pianist for a performance of Johan-Man Jazz at St Peter’s Church, Forsbrook. Having thoroughly enjoyed the experience, she went on to accompany choirs, soloists, and musical productions over the years.
After serving her apprenticeship with the City of Stoke-on-Trent Male Voice Choir as Deputy Accompanist, Cath is now delighted to fulfil the role of Principal Accompanist. She particularly enjoys the camaraderie of rehearsing with the choir and the opportunity to work once again with her sister, Pat.
Cath balances her musical interests alongside her work as a civil servant and family life with her husband and son, Henry — who coincidentally is also a member of the choir. She continues to enjoy singing herself and is a member of two local choirs, where she sings in the alto section.
